CA Native Plant Society

CNPS is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the horticultural use of California native plants while protecting their natural habitats. Their plant database provides detailed native plant descriptions, planting guides and landscaping information.


Tree of Life Nursery

This nursery supplies over 500 species and varieties for landscaping and ecological restoration at the wholesale level.  Located on 40 acres of the historic Rancho Mission Viejo in San Juan Capistrano, Tree of Life Nursery is the largest native plant supplier in the state.  Tree of Life natives are made available to the general public through the Casa La Paz Plant & Book Store, where plants and books are on display for the gardener and homeowner.


Las Pilitas Nursery

Las Pilitas Nursery exclusively grows California native plants and maintains an extensive plant database with thorough descriptions, photos and pricing.


CA Dept of Fish & Wildlife

The Habitat Conservation Planning Branch’s Native Plant Program provides resources to study, map and conserve California’s native plant species.



PlantRight collaborates with California’s nursery industry to keep invasive plants off landscapes and to promote the sale of non-invasive alternatives.


Theodore Payne Foundation

The Theodore Payne Foundation promotes the understanding, preservation and use of California native flora.
