Rich red flowers on numerous 2' stalks late February to April. Hummer attractor. Grows along sandy washes and slopes across SW USA and Arizona from 2-7000'. Dark green pointed leaves 3-4' x 1". Basal cluster of leaves. Similar to barbatus but eatonii is earlier and more compact.
